MILITARY MEMBERSHIP PRIVILEGES
1. The Boyertown Area YMCA is committed to serving the needs of our military families. The Boyertown Area YMCA Board of Directors adopted a policy to provide complimentary wellness membership privileges to all military personnel with an ACTIVE DUTY STATUS. The complimentary wellness membership privileges include spouses and dependents. The service member's ultimate physical duty station assignment must be more than 50 miles distance from the location of the Boyertown Area YMCA.
To receive these privileges:
Individuals - A copy of your orders stating you are active duty status must be presented within 3 business days of the request for membership. NO exceptions.
Households - A copy of the orders stating one adult is active duty status must be presented within 3 business days of the request for membership. For the household to be included in the membership, the household members must meet the military’s definition of dependents.
The complimentary membership privileges will correspond with the active duty dates as stated on the orders. This policy applies only to Wellness memberships. Any applicable fees for programs apply.
2. Membership privileges for any Active Duty or On Active Duty military personnel HOME ON LEAVE are provided also. Military personnel will receive (up to) one month complimentary membership. If the individual requires a longer term, they can purchase a membership (plus joiner fee) for the remaining months. The joiner fee will not be repaid upon return from active duty and requesting “on leave” membership privileges again. The complimentary month, may be given twice per year. Household members will receive one complimentary wellness month, not to exceed two per year. Thereafter, households would pay for membership. Should the household remain while the partner is sent to active duty per orders, refer to guidelines under section one.
To receive these privileges:
Individuals – a copy of your orders that state you are on active duty or present your ID card that indicates you are a member of an active component must be presented within 3 business days of the request for membership privileges.
Households – the above must be presented within 3 business days of the request for membership privileges. For the household to be included in the membership, the household members must meet the military’s definition of dependents
This policy applies only to Wellness memberships. Any applicable fees for programs apply.

Complimentary membership privileges are received through the Boyertown Area YMCA’s Golden Rule Financial Aid. Golden Rule Financial Aid is provided for individuals and families in need of financial assistance for YMCA memberships, programs and childcare. Golden Rule Financial Aid is funded by the Boyertown Area YMCA’s Building Strong Kids Campaign, various fundraisers held throughout the year, and the United Way of the Boyertown Area.
